Fund Aims

The Fund’s investment objective is to achieve an attractive level of income. The Fund will obtain exposure primarily to sterling-denominated (or hedged back to Sterling) fixed interest securities.

Fund Manager

Shamil Gohil manager for 2 years and 1 months

Photo of Shamil Gohil Shamil Gohil (né Pankhania) joined Fidelity in 2023 and is a portfolio manager responsible for a number of Fidelity’s sterling, global and sustainable investment grade (IG) bond funds. He is a joint-lead Portfolio Manager, alongside Kris Atkinson, on Fidelity Global Corporate Bond, Fidelity Sustainable Climate Bond, Fidelity Sustainable Global Corporate Bond, Fidelity Sustainable Social Bond and Fidelity Blue Transition Bond. He also acts as a co-Portfolio Manager on Fidelity Sustainable MoneyBuilder Income, Fidelity Short Dated Corporate Bond, Fidelity Extra Income and a number of sterling corporate bond funds. Shamil is a key member of Fidelity’s sterling IG strategy team. Prior to Fidelity, Shamil was a credit portfolio manager, Head of UK Credit Solutions and co-Head of Global Fixed Income Solutions at HSBC Global Asset Management where he was lead manager for UK institutional mandates and co-manager of Global and Sterling retail funds. He successfully launched a Climate Transition portfolio with Net Zero ambitions for a decarbonising segregated mandate. Prior to HSBC, Shamil was at BlackRock for over 7 years, most recently as a senior global credit portfolio manager. Shamil started his career at PIMCO where he had wide-ranging exposure to most fixed income asset classes, including investment grade, ABS, high yield, emerging market debt, and rates and FX. Shamil graduated with a MA (Oxon) in Physics (including an elective in Climate Physics) from the University of Oxford. He has a Diploma in ESG Investment Management and a Certificate in Climate & Investing from CFA UK.

Kris Atkinson manager for 6 years and 3 months

Photo of Kris Atkinson Kris Atkinson joined Fidelity in 2000 and is a portfolio manager responsible for a number of Fidelity’s sterling, global and sustainable investment grade (IG) bond funds. He is the lead manager on Fidelity Sustainable MoneyBuilder Income, Fidelity Short Dated Corporate Bond and Fidelity Extra Income, and acts as a joint-lead manager, alongside Shamil Gohil, on Fidelity Global Corporate Bond, Fidelity Sustainable Climate Bond, Fidelity Sustainable Global Corporate Bond, Fidelity Sustainable Social Bond and Fidelity Blue Transition Bond. Kris is a key member of Fidelity’s sterling IG strategy team and is a Fidelity Sustainability Ambassador across the firm. Kris became a credit analyst in 2001 and a senior credit analyst in 2010. During this time, he covered a variety of sectors across IG, high yield and emerging markets. He was promoted to portfolio manager in 2013. Kris has an MA Economics from the University of Cambridge.
